For the treatment of sinusitis, functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) has superceded other modes, whereby normal clearance from the sinuses is restored by removing the anatomical and pathological obstructive variations that predispose to sinusitis.
Caldwell-Luc operation is avoided.
